Bank Workers

Looking for flexibility in when you work?

Bank Workers are contacted when shifts in After School and Youth Clubs become available due to holidays, sickness absence or planned absences such as maternity leave. Bank Workers are not obliged to take shifts when offered them.

Extratime is an award-winning charity providing play and leisure activities for hundreds of children and young people with and without disabilities across Brighton & Hove and West Sussex. At Extratime clubs and holiday schemes, children and young people with disabilities, complex medical needs and conditions such as autism, have the specialist support they need to have fun, try new things and make new friends. Families consistently tell us that that Extratime is their life-line. The specialist care we provide broadens horizons for children and young people. For their families, Extratime’s after school clubs and holiday schemes also alleviate some of the extreme pressure of caring for a child with a disability.

Why join us?

You’ll be making a huge difference to children, young people and their families as well as having fun and learning new skills. You’ll enjoy working as part of a great team of Play & Youth Workers that support children and young people aged 4 upwards with a diverse range of abilities and interests as they have fun, try new things and make new friends at our Clubs. You’ll be enthusiastic, creative, energetic, enjoy working in a busy environment and have some experience of working with children and young people, ideally including those with additional needs. The role can include providing personal care and support to the children and young people, for example help with eating/drinking and personal hygiene.

What can you expect?

We pay up to £10.05 per hour, depending on your age, experience and qualifications.

We’ll also support you in building your skills and experience by providing regular on-the-job coaching and feedback, as well as offering training.  Additional Holiday Scheme work is also available during school holidays.
