"Access to an after school club is nothing new for
non disabled children but, for families like ours, it is a radical change
for the better." Parent/Carer
"extratime was the difference between my son staying
at home or being taken in to full time care." Parent/Carer
extratime......
is the brain-child of two families, both with children with profound special needs. Becky Jenner and Marian Tipler, frustrated at the lack of out-of-school care for their own children, spent two years planning and working voluntarily to develop an inclusive after- school club for special needs and mainstream children aged 5-16.When extratime@hillside opened in Sept 03 it was the first parent-led, inclusive after-school club providing affordable, five-nights-a-week childcare in the country.
