New Inclusive Dance Project
Extratime has joined forces with our friends at Rounded Rhythm to run an exciting new inclusive weekly dance group for young people.
This fun and supportive group is for disabled and non-disabled young people of all abilities aged 13 and 25 years old who love music and dance and want to learn more about dance, choreography and performance. No previous dance experience is necessary.
The group will be run by trained Extratime staff and Rounded Rhythm dance teachers to provide appropriate levels of care and support for everyone to participate.
Inclusive Dance Group - new for 2016
Dates: Monday 18th January to Monday 14th March (Excluding half term)
Half day rehearsal and performance on Saturday 19th March
Time: Mondays 4.15pm-5.45pm.
Venue: Portslade Aldridge Community Academy (PACA) Chalky Rd, Portslade, Brighton, East Sussex BN41 2WS
Beginning with snack at the café and then in the dance studio
Activities: A fun and inclusive session where everyone will be encouraged to explore various dance styles including, street, modern, world dance and physical theatre. The group will develop:
• skills in devising and choreography
• confidence, friendship and fun
• respect, diversity and teamwork
• problem-solving, communication and negotiation
• physical, social and mental well-being
• understanding of different people and their ideas, bodies and ways of moving
Every member of the group will be encouraged to express their unique creativity, and to realise their potential.
Snack: A healthy snack will be provided, but please send any special snack choices with your child
Arrival and Pick Up: • Transport will be provided for students coming from Downs View Link College, Downs View School, Portslade schools to venue.
• Students of other schools will need to be dropped off by parent carers
• Pick up by parent carers for everyone at 5.30pm
Numbers: Approximately 20 children and young people. This will depend on needs and staffing ratios needed – everyone is welcome.
Fees: £8 per child per session

For ALL NEW young people wishing to join the dance club, please complete the appropriate registration/booking form along with the personal needs form and ALL consent forms that are listed below.
A non-refundable registration fee of £30.00 is required for all new young people who wish to attend the Extratime schemes.
