extratime, along with Sussex Central YMCA, embarked on an exciting new youth pilot project thanks to funding from the Brighton & Hove City Council DCatch (Disabled Children’s Access to Childcare) Programme.

Eleven young people from across the city accessed the fantastic facilities at the Y’ Centre (Marmion Road, Hove) on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays to take part in DJ’ing, dance, trampolining, pool etc – lots of great, ‘too cool for school’ activities that all young people should be able to access.

Members of the extratime playwork team worked with staff at the Y’ Centre to facilitate these fun packed sessions and although this was a pilot scheme funded until March 2011, we managed to continue until October 2011 but we have our fingers crossed that future funding can be secured to resume the project.
