Our inclusive ethos underpins all of our work.
Extratime was founded in 2003 by two parents of severely disabled children in response to an issue affecting parent carers like them – a lack of suitable, affordable, childcare for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Brighton & Hove. Since then, Extratime has become a lifeline for hundreds of families of children and young people with SEND and is now one of the largest specialist providers of inclusive play and leisure in Sussex.
Our inclusive ethos underpins all of our work. This means that Extratime clubs and schemes are open to children and young people with and without disabilities. Their individual strengths and interests are at the heart of everything we do.
As the charity has grown, so has the Extratime community. We have won the Argus Charity of the Year twice and were proud to be the charity partner of Brighton & Hove Albion FC (BHAFC) in the football season 16/17 and one of the Mayor of Brighton & Hove chosen charities for 2019-2020.
Our close-knit team put our core values of Equality & Diversity, Creativity & Passion, Trust & Transparency and Positivity & Care at the heart of everything we do.
