welcome to extratime

extratime is a registered charity that runs 3 after school clubs and associated holiday play schemes and, more recently, in partnership with Sussex Central YMCA, 2 holiday schemes for young people with disabilities aged 11-19 years, based in mainstream youth centres.

These clubs and playschemes are fully inclusive, catering for children and young people of 5 - 19 years from both mainstream and special needs schools. The children and young people who come to us have a wide range of special needs; physical, learning and behavioural and we provide one-to-one support to those children and young people who need it. jigsaw man marching right

The extratime clubs fill a gap in after school care for children and young people with profound and/or multiple disabilities - care and play opportunities that simply didn't exist for these children and young people before extratime. two children in a hammock Our clubs are about giving every child and young person a chance to be accepted and included for who they are and helping children and young people learn about living in an inclusive society. We offer a great, fun experience to our children and young people and a valuable service to their families - families who sometimes struggle to cope not just with the challenges of caring for a disabled child but with the isolation and frustration that can go with this.
